Extramadamadura day 1

Debian-KDE && Debian-i18n meeting in extremadura. I’m attending. Yay.

Flight: on time for once, but apparantly Iberia has added one extra row of seats, so very little space.
Bus ride: okay. but still a 3-4 hour bus ride.
Beds/bedrooms: Is working.
Breakfast: Crap.
Network: Heavily firewalled, but ssh works on port 22. Extremely laggy, connections dropped, …. In general, crap.
Lunch: Quite okay. Probably because the standard lunch got cancelled, so we got better lunch.
Dining schedules: Completely weird.
The people: Debian people quite nice.
Why does so few spanish people speak english?

Except the network, I am kind of satisfied.

    Unless you’re trying to make a joke (which actually could work) maybe you’re talking about Extremadura :p

    And about the breakfast, lunch, dinner times and quality.. be patient :) we usually eat at “weird” times, from an European or US POV.. The same have I suffer in Germany :)

    And about the Spanish speaking English… ufff.. you have to be very patient with that issue hehe… btw, the people use to be nice, but maybe in another way than your

    Hope you have a wonderful time in Spain, spreading the FOSS work and comunity (which we need lots here), and enjoy your time here.

    Saludos

  3. Some of us actually speak spanish =) See you in Hispalinux today! I’m liking it also, but it’s a pitty that there so few people attending to this congress. I was in Hispalinux ¿2003? which happenened in Madrid and there were many more people in the conferences :).

    Xbehave: Don’t knock a foreigner complaining about spanish customs… Spaniards are ignorant of anything outside their own border. When they go abroad, all they do is bitch and complain about the weather, the food, the language and everything else while obviously forgetting that the only reason they have roads, food and jobs is because of Europe.
