  • BUGS. Bugs. bugs

In the KDE team we are have too many notforwarded bugs open. Most of these bugs are upstream bugs and feature requests. Many bug reports already fixed upstream, but not yet marked as such. And many that just needs to be located in the KDE Bugzilla.

Some of the bugs already fixed upstream is probably by readers of Planet Debian. If the readers of Planet Debian (That’s you), could go quickly thru their bugs and check if it still applies and add a note if it does and else close it with a comment, it would be really really nice. To get a list of all the reported bugs pr email address, you can use the following url: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?submitter=your@email.invalid with your reportbug email inserted.

If your bug still applies, it would be very cool if you could find it upstream and mark it forwarded. Our goal is to make the red and the een line much more close than they currently are: Bug graph with forwards from the last year

Any other help with the bugs is also much appreciated.

My hero is still Olivier Vitrat who came out of the blue and is doing a amazing job with pinging and forwarding bugs.

  • Linux forum day 2

Yesterday evening I got back home from Linuxforum day 2. There was some nice talks, and I saw the Google geek herder fall off the stage. I also got a nice introduction to Qt.

Finally I saw a spam fighting deathmatch. Among the serious competitors, a pseudo-icelandic guy also joined in. A short post-presentation (in danish though, but you might get the meaning of it anyway), but you might find the principles. Find it at YouTube. Anyways, there was funny presentations of policyd (with and without the -weight), dspam, annoyance filter, milter and postgrey. As it was most a matter of funny presentation and the technical details were more secondary, it was more a person than a product that won. The winner was Ralf Hildebrandt with .. something (policyd either with or without the -weight).
No open source events without beer, so there was after the spam contest, a couple of nice beer.

It was basically a nice Linuxforum – and I am looking forward for next year.

But it was also a bit ‘interesting’ if it was possible to get to linux forum, just like yesterday, because some violent criminals and spoiled younsters have tried to set large parts of the streets on fire in Copenhagen.

PS.: Comments by anonymous hooligans will not be accepted.

  • Linuxforum day 1

Today I was at the business day at linuxforum. The first exciting thing about the day was if it was possible to actually get there after violent criminals have been ruining Copenhagen all night long. My bus took a detour, but I ended up at the rigth place finally.

Today there was talks and some companies have been running their booths. The most interesting talk today was Poul-Henning Kamps talk about varnish. Another interesting topic was how lego tried something new – work with the community around their mindstorms stuff with great success.

Tomorrow it is a bit more techie-day where the local LUGs are having booths also, and with exiting talks about Qt programming and a spamfilter deathmatch.

  • Seriousness

    Was Sam a joke-candidate or not ?
I hope that his platform will make the last people think that he is serious.

I am not able to vote – but if someone wants to sponsor a ballot for me, I can provide one.

I wish good luck to all the candidates – I might start commenting on all the candidates soonish.

  • aggregated on planet debian!

Thanks to Ana I am now on debian planet. I have ended up underneath Steve McIntyre, but as I am quite strong, I think I can handle it.

Lately on the Debian devel maillist, there has been some flaming about maintainers and when to answer their bugs. I whined a bit about KDE team being a bit overloaded – and suddenly a guy started working on the KDE related bugs.

Olivier Vitrat is my current hero for the next couple of days.

  • Hello world

    Frist!

every one has to start blogging once – so this is my attempt. Even if it fails, it is also cooler to be a ex-blogger than not having blogged at all.
