BUGS. Bugs. bugs

In the KDE team we are have too many notforwarded bugs open. Most of these bugs are upstream bugs and feature requests. Many bug reports already fixed upstream, but not yet marked as such. And many that just needs to be located in the KDE Bugzilla.

Some of the bugs already fixed upstream is probably by readers of Planet Debian. If the readers of Planet Debian (That’s you), could go quickly thru their bugs and check if it still applies and add a note if it does and else close it with a comment, it would be really really nice. To get a list of all the reported bugs pr email address, you can use the following url: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?submitter=your@email.invalid with your reportbug email inserted.

If your bug still applies, it would be very cool if you could find it upstream and mark it forwarded. Our goal is to make the red and the een line much more close than they currently are: Bug graph with forwards from the last year

Any other help with the bugs is also much appreciated.

My hero is still Olivier Vitrat who came out of the blue and is doing a amazing job with pinging and forwarding bugs.

A word from your hero :-)

Thanks for mentioning my work on your blog and on Debian Planet.

I guess you want to know a little bit more about me… Well I’m a 33 year old french guy living in MontrĂ©al, Canada. I’m using Debian since about 5 years. I was reading your mail on debian-devel about the thousand of bugs assigned to debian-qt-kde when I thought that I could do something with this and for Debian, at least try to help a little. (I also did some package description translations for the DDTP some time ago) I’m not a DD nor a developer but I can do bug triage, anybody can do that, and in fact, this is not too new for me because this is also part of my job :-) so I’ve said “Why not ?”.
Moreover I know that I can get help and support from the list. People there are friendly (Hi Ana !) and I’m sure that together we’ll manage to go thru all these bugs.
Let’s go on the good work !!

    regards,
    Olivier
