Watching people figuring out how to use a Danish cheese slicer is kind interesting. But by using enough force most people succeeding in getting a lump of cheese.

With regards to wire slicers, you can bisect people into side slicers and top slicers. Having been brought up with a top slicer

it was a culture shock to move in with my girlfriend and try to adjust to side-slicing. Very funny.
Revenge was sweet when we years later visited my parents’ summer cottage, equipped only with a top slicer.
I learned from that experience that slicing cheese with a hand-held wire slicer is not an innate, but learned ability of humans.
